MSQUARED Tango Salon — msquaredtangosalon.com

Effective date: 5 August 2026

MSQUARED Tango Salon ("MSQUARED", "we", "us", or "our") is a tango school based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect through our website (msquaredtangosalon.com), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to visitors, class and event participants, and anyone who submits information to us through our website or advertising.

1. Who is responsible for your data

MSQUARED Tango Salon, Rotterdam, the Netherlands, is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy.

For any question about this policy or your personal data, contact us at:

msquaredtangosalon@gmail.com

2. What personal data we collect

We collect personal data in the following ways:

  • Contact form: when you send us a message through our website, we collect your first name, last name, email address, and the content of your message.

  • Bookings and class registrations: when you book a class, seminar, free trial, or milonga entry through our website, we (via our booking provider) collect your name, email address, and, where a class or event requires payment, billing details needed to process that payment.

  • Online payments: if you pay for a class, seminar, or event online, your payment is processed through our website's payment provider. We do not store full card or bank details ourselves — these are handled directly by the payment processor.

  • Advertising leads: if you respond to one of our Google Ads or Meta (Facebook/Instagram) lead campaigns, the name, email address, and/or phone number you submit through the ad form is shared with us by Google or Meta so we can follow up with you.

  • Automatically collected data: when you visit our website, we (via Google Analytics and similar tools) automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and how you arrived at the site, typically through cookies or similar technologies.

3. How we use your data

We use the personal data described above to:

  • Respond to your questions and messages

  • Process and manage class, seminar, and milonga bookings, including payment

  • Follow up with people who submit a lead form through our Google or Meta ad campaigns

  • Send you information you have requested about classes, seminars, or events

  • Understand how visitors use our website and improve its content and performance

  • Run and measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns, including showing relevant ads and measuring conversions (analytics and advertising cookies)

  • Comply with legal or accounting obligations, for example relating to payments

4. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Consent — for optional cookies, advertising/retargeting, and marketing follow-up after a lead form submission. You can withdraw consent at any time.

  • Performance of a contract — to process a class, seminar, or milonga booking and any related payment you make with us.

  • Legitimate interest — to respond to enquiries sent to us directly, to keep our website secure, and to understand and improve how our website and ads perform.

  • Legal obligation — where we must keep certain records, for example for tax or accounting purposes.

5. Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share personal data with the following categories of service providers, who process it on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own privacy policies:

  • Wix.com — our website, booking, and payment platform provider, which hosts our website and processes bookings and payments.

  • Google (Google Ads and Google Analytics) — used to run advertising campaigns, measure their performance, and analyse website traffic. If you submit a Google Ads lead form, Google shares your submitted details with us.

  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — used to run advertising campaigns and, where applicable, share lead form submissions with us.

  • Payment processors integrated with our booking system, to securely process online payments.

Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where this happens, they do so under safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent adequacy mechanism.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Enable core website and booking functionality (necessary cookies)

  • Understand how visitors use our site, via Google Analytics (analytics cookies)

  • Show and measure relevant advertising on Google and Meta platforms, including retargeting (advertising cookies)

Where required, you will be asked for your consent to non-essential cookies when you first visit our site. You can change or withdraw your cookie preferences at any time through your browser settings or the cookie banner on our website.

7. How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy: for example, enquiry and lead data is generally kept for a limited follow-up period, booking and payment records are kept as long as required for accounting and legal purposes, and analytics/advertising data is retained according to the retention settings of Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Meta.

8. Your rights

If the GDPR applies to you, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you

  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data

  • Request erasure of your data

  • Restrict or object to certain processing, including direct marketing

  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format

  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent

  • Lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or your local supervisory authority

9. Children's privacy

Our website and classes are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through our website. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
